Why do we feel so much pressure to “identify” as something in the physical world? We are immortal souls that have chosen to have a human experience by traveling around in a physical body.
Much like a car, we travel through life in a physical body. It’s not who we are, it’s just a vehicle we use to navigate around in. We are “in” the car, but we are not the car. The only reason we feel a need to identify with it, is because we have been programmed to believe that we are just a physical body, and to embrace suffering and conflict as the “human condition/experience”.
Us choosing to be here is about the human experience. We have an opportunity to experience duality with our 5 physical “senses”. We can choose to believe we are just a physical body and have that experience, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Maybe we want to learn what it feels like to forgive, and in order for that to happen we need to experience others hurting us, betraying us, and treating us badly. And it has to feel real! If it didn’t feel real, then we wouldn’t be getting that experience we signed up for!
Whether you are consciously aware of it or not, your experience is about what you choose to experience. I know a lot of times we deny that, because we say “Why the hell would I want to experience pain and suffering?”. I know it’s a hard pill to swallow, but it’s true. Maybe you wanted to experience that because you wanted to learn how to be more compassionate to others who are suffering.
We can also choose the experience of “awakening” from this “reality”. In a nutshell, this is the process of deconstructing the beliefs we were programmed to believe, and going within to get in touch with who we really are. It’s the experience of “How does this reality thing really work?” Lol
The point is, whatever you choose to experience is perfectly ok. No judgements, only love
